  Social workers and childcare workers provide you with consulting services on your anxieties in daily life, such as: livelihood, childcare, children's education, elderly people's difficulties, diseases and nursing care, physical disability, single-parent household, and divorce. They will give you advice and introduce appropriate aid systems and organizations in charge, if necessary.

18-2 Nursing-care insurance and welfare for the elderly
  When you come to need nursing care, you may be covered by the nursing care insurance system. People who are aged above 40 pay insurance premium to join the system. When a member is designated as a person who needs nursing care, she/he can utilize care service at a minimum charge.
The city provides elderly people with various welfare services so that they are relieved from isolation and live autonomous lives.

18-3 Medical system for Kouki koreisha (the elderly from 75 years up)
  The new medical insurance system in which all the elderly from 75 years up (or above 65 if he/she has a certain disability) are enrolled is operated by the municipalities union of Saitama-ken Kouki koureissha. All enrollees of the system are required to pay the premiums. Co-payment of them at medical institution is 10% of charged medical expenses (30% for those who have such a high income as certain level). You can pay the premium by deducting from your pension, or pay with a statement of payment at the window of city hall, or use an account transfer.   Public supports and survices are provided for physically, mentally and psychiatric disabled peopl. To receive the services, apply for physical disability certificate, mental disability certificate, or psychiatric disability certificate. Guardians are covered by the mutual aid system for guardians of the disabled.

  National social welfare system provides aid to needy people who have difficulties in living for diseases, unemployment, death of income provider, etc. so that minimum living is secured and independent life is achieved. This system also applies to foreign nationals such as permanent residents who have been living from prewar days, their spouses, or long-term residents from standpoint of humanity and international morality.
